My Personality & Needs
Bear is an independent, active, energetic dog. He is not trained at all- he is jumpy, doesn't listen, and pulls hard. He will probably calm down a bit once he has been neutered and settles into a routine. He loves to run and does well at the dog park but he will guard (growl, lunge, snap) at other dogs if they get near something he values. Bear likes toys and is super food motivated so he will be fun to train. He is not house trained but reportedly was crated as a puppy so he should adapt to a crate well as an adult.
Bear is a young very active breed- needs a lot of exercise and he was never really trained any skills or house trained so adopters will need to be ready for a 80 pound "puppy brain". No little children, supervise with other animals. Crate training is recommended for house training a dog or puppy as it is the most efficient and effective method- it also helps prevent destructive chewing, door darting, and gives a dog a place to retreat. Recommend a positive reinforcement training class to instill good dog manners, provide socialization, and build a strong dog/adopter bond- This dog has a voucher for discounted classes.
